About Aurecon Australasia in support of Indigenous Literacy Foundation

As part of our Reconciliation Action Plan, Aurecon is committed to increasing our people’s knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories and a key part of this is by celebrating NAIDOC Week. As part of our celebrations, we are excited to announce the launch of our NAIDOC Week Art raffle.

We will be running a raffle in the Melbourne and Adelaide offices with the chance to win some exceptional pieces of artwork from the APY Lands of Central Australia. Art is an important way for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to tell stories, share and strengthen cultures and connection to Country, promote understanding of history, strengthen communities, and expand economic opportunities.

We have purchased the artworks from the APY Galleries in Adelaide and Melbourne. The APY Galleries are run by the APY Art Centre Collective (APYACC). The APYACC are a group of Indigenous-owned and governed art centres that work together on innovative artistic projects, and strong business initiatives. Art centres are vital to Communities as they are a rare source of non-government income. Art centres create employment opportunities for people of all ages and are also places where culture is celebrated and instructed daily through art and cultural practice.

All proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF). In remote Communities across Australia access to reading material is often extremely limited and this impacts the achievements of Indigenous children. For kids who miss that foundational step in their literacy journey, it has a lifelong impact. The ILF works with Communities and families to provide English language books, books in First Languages and learning resources to children and families living in remote Communities across Australia.

See Melbourne or Adelaide Raffle pages for finer details.

** Please note, it is your responsibility to check which raffle you are entering as there are separate QR codes for each office **
