Health Volunteers International

Health Volunteers International (HVI), a not for profit, Tasmanian founded organisation.

HVI is a volunteer run organisation with a primary focus on improving maternal health and outcomes in African countries.  Our current method of operation is to send teams of Australian medical practitioner volunteers to these countries to work with, train and assist local practitioners to further their knowledge, to improve the delivery of health care, and to implement systems and procedures to ensure these improvements continue for the long term. Our view is that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right that should not be determined by luck based on where you happen to be born.  

We are sending a group of health professionals over to Namibia in November this year and three groups per year ongoing. We offer sustainable support that empowers Namibian health professionals to improve the outcomes of their own population.
