What is T. Thanbyah Christian Institute?

TCI provides leadership and professional training to students with refugee & IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) backgrounds on the Thai/Myanmar border and young Karen people in surrounding regions.

TCI provides the only access to higher education to young people in this remote area, regardless of their religious background - education for all!

Despite being affected by Myanmar military bombing in the surrounding areas, TCI continues to provide quality higher education to its students.

Who are Friends of TCI Australia?

Friends of TCI Australia supports the work of T. Thanbyah Institute in areas of strategic planning, curriculum development and review, operational assistance and fundraising.

How will the proceeds contribute to TCI?

In the past years, donors and raffle participants helped Friends Of TCI Australia contribute upgraded laptops to TCI and funds to improve the satellite dish.

Your entry this year will help contribute to:

• Repairs, maintenance, and upgrading boarding houses and classrooms
• Improving transportation (TCI is located in a very remote area)
• Improving the internet connection for remote online learning.
